Raymond Miller Rambo, Sr.

Raymond Miller Rambo, Sr., 89, passed away peacefully at Piedmont Hospital on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017.

He was born on Nov. 22, 1927, in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Henry McIntosh and Bessie Miller Rambo. He is survived by a daughter, Donna Rambo Ennis (Richard), LaGrange and a son, Raymond Miller Rambo, Jr., Cordele, along with five grandchildren, Miller Rambo (fiancée-Cassandra Boyle) Ames, Iowa; Stephen Ennis (Hannah), Greer, South Carolina; Benjamin Rambo (Rebecca), Albany; Rachel Ennis (fiancée-Charlie deCelle), LaGrange; and David Rambo, Cordele, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by the love of his life, Rose Virginia Rambo, his wife of 57 years and two sisters and three brothers.

A devoted husband and father, he spent his career working for Southern Bell, retiring with 40 years of service.  He was a faithful member of Shallowford Presbyterian Church, having served as both a deacon and elder for a number of years.

Beyond his family, his most treasured accomplishment was leading a number of people to Christ through his work with the Evangelism Explosion program.

Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday evening, Oct. 17 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. with funeral services on Wednesday, Oct. 18  at 11 a.m., both to be held at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory, Decatur, GA.
