The upcoming weekend in LaGrange and Troup County is jam-packed with events. From the annual Hummingbird Festival taking place in Hogansville to the Sweetland Craft Beer and Music Festival taking place at Sweetland Amphitheatre and a number of events in between, this weekend presents a wide array of opportunities to get out and experience all the county has to offer.

Hogansville’s Hummingbird Festival, a long-time staple of the community, takes place each year during the third weekend of October.

The two-day event is held in historic downtown Hogansville, and will feature more than 200 vendors, a food court, live music, a kids’ area, crafts and much more. The festival will be held from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. this Saturday and Sunday, and all proceeds from the festival benefit the Hogansville Charitable Trust.

While the festival begins on Saturday, the fun will start Thursday night at the Victoria Belle Mansion with a dinner, dance and silent auction.

Tickets for the event are $65, are tax deductible and cover a chef-prepared buffet along with an open bar.

The event is fully supported by volunteers, and is held as a fundraiser for the Hogansville Charitable Trust.

This is a once-per-year event that brings much-deserved attention to the City of Friendly People.

In other areas of the county, the Sweetland Craft Beer and Music Festival is taking place on Saturday. This will be the second annual festival, and will feature live music, local food vendors, lawn games, a football viewing area and more, per the event’s website. More than 35 local, regional and national breweries will be represented at the event from 4 -8 p.m. Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 at the gate, and include a souvenir sampling glass along with unlimited craft beer samples until 8 p.m.

Elsewhere throughout the county this weekend will be a number of other events as well, including a scavenger hunt at Hills & Dales Estate, a Veterans Fun Night at the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a lawn party at Sweetland on Friday, put on by LaGrange College as part of the college’s homecoming festivities.

With so much taking place around town and the county, this weekend will be yet another opportunity for the people of LaGrange and Troup County to enjoy a good time locally.
