LAGRANGE – Cartersville and Troup have been the class of the region so far.

As the regular season hits the home stretch, Cartersville and Troup are leading the way in Region 5-AAAA, and neither team has had a close game.

Cartersville (8-0 overall) is 4-0 in the region, and it has outscored its opponents 215-13 in those four games.

Troup (7-0) has been just as dominant, outscoring its three region foes 157-28.

If that trend continues, those two teams will meet on Nov. 3 at Callaway Stadium for the region championship.

Cedartown and Chapel Hill are close behind with matching 2-1 region records, while Central-Carroll is 1-3 in the region.

LaGrange (0-4) and Sandy Creek (0-3) are winless in the region, and they’ll play tonight.

The region’s top four teams will make the state playoffs.
