Lera Frances Humphrey

Mrs. Lera Frances Humphrey, 85, of LaGrange, GA passed away Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Wellstar West Georgia Hospice.

Mrs. Humphrey was born Sept. 7, 1932, in Heard County, GA to the late James “Buddy” Zollie Walker and Ollie Bell Brown Walker. She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and retired after several years as a Quality Control Technician for a glass plant. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. (Ret) Raymond Humphrey; daughter, Shirley Gaylor; son, Randall McGinnis; and brother, JL Walker.

Survivors include her special son-in-law, Wayne Gaylor; granddaughter, Danielle (Keith) Ballenger; three great grandchildren, Ashley Copelan, Scott Copelan, and Mason Ballenger; two sisters, Marett Landers Brown and Christine Howard; one niece, four nephews, other relatives and friends.

The Gathering of family and friends will be 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. prior to the service at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary. The Life Celebration Service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017 in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with Rev. Doug Bingham officiating. Burial will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
