Mrs. Dorothy Burson Jones, 86, of Hogansville, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017.

A lifelong resident of Hogansville, Mrs. Jones was the daughter of the late William Polk Burson and Emma Thompson Burson.  She worked for many years for the William Carter Co. as a supervisor, was a longtime member of Antioch Baptist Church, and was currently attending Trinity Baptist Church in Manchester until her health declined.

Survivors include her children, Brenda K. Jones and Pat Kochanowski, James Jones, and Charles Jones and Sandy Smith, all of Hogansville; nine grandchildren; eleven  great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, James Bluford Jones; son, William “Buck” Joseph Jones, and five siblings.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home. The Reverends Wesley Boatman and Will Cole will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday.
