The chase for number one can end tonight.

The Heard County Braves took control of the Region 5-AA race with a home win over Callaway, and they can wrap up the region title with a win at Lamar County tonight.

If Heard County wins, Callaway would sew up the number two spot with a win over Spencer tonight at Memorial Stadium in Columbus.

That would leave two other playoff spots available, with four teams competing for them.

While Heard leads the region with a 3-0 record, Callaway and Spencer are tied for second at 2-1.

Temple and Lamar County are tied for fourth at 1-2, and Jordan is 0-3.
