The greatest tragedy in life is sight without vision

Helen Keller said, “The greatest tragedy in life is people who have sight, but no vision.”

Folks, I am here to tell you my vision for Troup County. For 40 years I have been told Troup County is  going to grow, now I can see and smell it. In every direction from the square you can see new  buildings including new places to eat and shop. We are blessed to have three colleges here for all of  us to take advantage of. We have a great mayor and city/county leaders. I had a couple that was  here looking for a place to retire and I did my “quality of life tour” that I have done for years showing our parks, medical buildings, the colleges, industrial park, West Point Lake and some  great places to eat. I believe they will buy a home here before the end of the year. Oh yes, they  were looking in the $550k range. They thought LaGrange was awesome, and Sweetland was a wow for them.

People ask me, “When are you going to retire?” My answer to them is, “I have the best job in  the world. I have fun every week.” This month I got a new family in their first home. They got  out of the rental cycle at a very early age.

Folks, it makes me smile to help people. I am asking you to look around and see all the great things going on. Then when someone asks about your  hometown of LaGrange smile and tell them all the good things going on. We are so blessed in Troup County!
