Twenty community leaders have graduated from the fifth annual West Georgia Health Foundation Insiders Series, a program that showcases the quality healthcare and technologies available at WellStar West Georgia Medical Center and describes the challenges facing the healthcare industry.

Troup County Tax Commissioner Shane Frailey was impressed by the inside look at the health system that serves our region.

“By participating in this group, I have gained more and more respect for our hospital,” Frailey said. “What an asset for our community.”

Russ Davidson with Financial Management Services at Synovus Securities agreed.

“I was blown away by the science and technology advances we heard about,” Davidson said.  “I was also impressed with the talent and passion that is responsible for keeping up with all of the changes.”

Mark Mitchell of the LaGrange City Council found the program very informative.

“I have already recommended the Insiders Series to others in the community as a program they should attend if given the opportunity in the future,” he said.

Insiders participate in eight monthly sessions that include presentations by physicians and tours of key departments including surgery, cardiovascular, hospice, home care, occupational medicine, wound care, emergency, women’s health, physical therapy, Vernon Woods Retirement Community, and oncology services.  For more information, contact the West Georgia Health Foundation at foundation@wghealth.org.
