Woman arrested for alleged lottery ticket theft

Taydra Smith, 23, was arrested by the Troup County Sheriff’s Office for allegedly stealing more than 30 lottery tickets from the Summit Store on Upper Big Springs Road Thursday.

According to a TCSO news release, Smith was an employee at the store. According to TCSO Sgt. Stewart Smith, a manager noticed the woman taking the tickets without paying for them.

The woman is charged with five felony counts of violation of the Georgia Lottery for Education Act and additional charges could occur, according to the news release.

Three people arrested for methamphetamine possession

Antwonn Martin, 32, Seth Talbot, 37, and Sandy Green, 46, were arrested by the LaGrange Police Department for alleged methamphetamine possession at the 200 block of Tuggle Street Thursday morning.

According to the police report, officers responded to a call about a person being at the location on Tuggle Street. When one of the officers arrived, Green told them that the man they were looking for wasn’t there and that officers could check. Officers searched the residence and found Talbot lying on a bed. After searching his name, it came back that he had a warrant, according to the police report. Talbot was then arrested.

Officers walked into another room and found Martin lying on a bed. After talking to him, police noticed a glass smoking device used for meth and a handheld torch on the bed. Martin was then arrested for methamphetamine possession, according to the police report.

An officer then walked into a room where Green was and ran her driver’s license. It came back that she had a warrant through the LPD and another one through the state court. According to the police report, Green was then arrested. Officers discovered that one of her warrants was for dangerous drugs.

After searching the residence, officers found a pouch that contained two syringes with orange caps, a blue plastic baggie with crystal meth and a tablespoon with a piece of cotton ball and meth residue on the spoon in the room where Talbot was first found. Officers asked Talbot if the pouch was his and he told them it was Green’s.

Man arrested for cocaine and marijuana possession

Andrew Strozier, 32, was arrested for alleged cocaine and marijuana possession at the 400 block of Brown Street Friday around 4 a.m.

According to the LaGrange Police Department report, officers were patrolling Revis Street when they saw another vehicle speed on Vince Sutton Boulevard. After following him on other streets, officers initiated their vehicles blue lights and Strozier’s car backed into a driveway on Brown Street.

According to the police report, Strozier got out of the car without instruction from police. Officers noticed a strong smell of marijuana coming from his vehicle. After escorting him to the back of his vehicle, officers searched his car and found a clear plastic bag with suspected marijuana and another bag with five suspected crack cocaine rocks.

Strozier was then arrested.

Man shot by BB gun

A man was allegedly shot at with a BB gun by juveniles at the 100 block of Turner Street Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

The man told police that he had parked his car and started walking toward his apartment when he got struck twice in the stomach from the BB guns. He said the juveniles were standing at the corner of the building and ran off after shooting him.
