Donell Jerome Thomaston, 67, of LaGrange, Georgia, beloved husband, brother and uncle, passed away suddenly on Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017. Mr. Thomaston was born on Dec. 18, 1949, in Lagrange to the late Horace “Doc” Thomaston and Mary Thomaston.

Donell was a resident of Lagrange but also lived in Marietta, Georgia for many years and a few years in Burlington, Iowa. Mr. Thomaston was retired from Bellsouth in Atlanta in 2006, Georgia with 30 plus  years of service and was currently working at Callaway Gardens.

Survivors include his wife Fran Elaine Thomaston of Burlington, Iowa.  His sisters, all from Georgia, Darla Jo Walker of LaGrange, Donna Lynn Moore of Cartersville, Judy Ellene Gifford of Dallas, Kathy Thomaston Gordon of Canton, Susan Laurie Gifford of Flowery Branch and Michelle Thomaston Bryce of Acworth. His nieces and nephews, Reba Lawhorn, Brad Walker, Kristy Moore, Sonia Burckhalter, Elizabeth McMahon, Cheryl Bagby, Shaun Bagby, Rachael Speer, Michael Vaughan, Kris Newton, Rebecca Davis, Eric Nevins and numerous great nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts.

A memorial service to celebrate Donell’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 26, at The Lodge and Spa “Cyprus Room” at Callaway Gardens, 4500 Southern Pine Drive, Pine Mountain, GA 31822. Any questions please email goodbykat24@yahoo.com
