Marichal Price won the election for the Hogansville City Council Post 2 Tuesday night, defeating Valerie Buice 258 votes to 153 votes.

He received 62 percent of the vote and dominated Tuesday’s voting. Price received 231 of the 138 votes cast Tuesday at the polls in Hogansville.

He said he is glad he has a chance to improve the city by joining the council.

“I plan to help the city work on different ideas and different ways to bring new businesses in, and help the city with the cleanup and different things in the city so it can improve,” Price said.

“I am so happy that I won and I appreciate everybody that came out and supported me.”

Price will take over Jimmy Norred’s spot on the Hogansville City Council. Norred decided not to run for re-election.

Buice could not be reached for comment Tuesday night.
