Writer and humorist Lee St. John will speak at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at LaGrange Memorial Library as part of the ongoing Author Talk series.

St. John, a retired Coweta County high school English teacher, is the author of five humorous books and two audio books in the “She’s a Keeper’’ series.

A stand-up comedienne and lecturer, she writes for the Newnan Times-Herald — the same newspaper where her idol, Lewis Grizzard, started. St. John started writing her own column in high school and continued during and after college.

The Georgia native attended Georgia Southern University, where she majored in journalism/public relations, and later studied at Georgia State University and the University of Georgia graduate schools.

She keeps busy with her writing, her TV show for Charter Cable in Alabama, her blog, speaking engagements and guest columns in various magazines and publications.

Her talk at the library at 115 Alford St. is sponsored by Friends of LaGrange Memorial Library. It is free and open to the public.
