Alene Bailey passed away Monday.

She was born Dec. 25, 1931, in Shelby County, Alabama to the late Rufus and Eva McCrimon.

She was employed by Mrs. Mattie Ruthe Trammell and her daughters, Mrs. Beverly McDan, Mrs. Nancy Hargett, and the late Mrs. Jackie Dodd until her retirement in 2012.

Survivors include daughters, Shirley Whitworth, Charlene Bailey, Gloria Bailey; a devoted son-in-law, John Whitworth “JJ”; two sisters-in-law, Mary Alice Higgins and Ethel Mae Huguley; 17 grandchildren whom she adored; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Mt. Beulah Baptist Church.
