The Troup County Sheriff’s Office and other law enforcement agencies are in West Point searching for a missing 75-year-old woman, according to Sheriff James Woodruff.

Woodruff said Carol Evans, who suffers from dementia, was reported missing by her husband after she left their house on Lower Lovelace Road after 2 p.m. Friday. He had just finished cutting grass and when he returned she was nowhere to be found.

Woodruff said they are not sure what Evans was last wearing. She did not take her purse or her cell phone when she left the house. She is approximately 5-foot-2 and 180 pounds.

Woodruff said the LaGrange Police Department is using a drone to search the area and officers are also using ATVs, K9 officers and the Georgia State Patrol is bringing in a helicopter to aid in the search.

Deputies are going door to door on nearby roads talking to neighbors to see if they have seen Evans.
