The Thursday Lunch Club met at noon Nov. 2 in the Fellowship Hall of the LaGrange First United Methodist Church.

There were 94 people who enjoyed a delicious meal. The tables were decorated with baskets filled with fall fruits, vegetables and foliage by the Lydia Circle of the LaGrange First UMC. These women also hosted and served the meal.

Linda Frano welcomed everyone and called on Dr. Brian Germano, Senior Pastor, First United Methodist Church LaGrange, to add his welcome and blessing.

Following the meal, Linda thanked Judy Bledsoe for administering blood pressure checks prior to the meal.

Jake Behr, program chair announced a drawing for four gift bags donated by Splash Kitchen and Bath. He called upon Sheriff James Woodruff to draw the names and Dusty Mills to assist in handing out the gift bags.

Then Behr introduced Jeff Higgins, Owner and Director of Higgins LaGrange Chapel Funeral Home. Higgins has been singing since a very early age and has performed both locally and professionally. He has appeared in musicals in the Atlanta Area, performing in “Pippin,” “The Robber Bridegroom,” “South Pacific,”  “Mame” and “Amahl and the Night Visitors.”

Higgins sang his favorite songs from Broadway shows. His performance brought joy and memories of Broadway Shows to all who attended.

The next meeting of TLC will be Dec. 7.  First Baptist’s New Horizon Choir will sing holiday music.
