Man allegedly takes TV from home as resident slept

Darryl Williams, 28, was arrested for alleged burglary at the 1300 block of Washington Street Tuesday after 2:30 p.m.

According to the police report, officers responded to a call about a suspicious person carrying a flat screen TV down the alleyway behind Washington Street and Forrest Avenue and the man was walking toward a house at the 1300 block of Forrest Avenue.

According to the police report, a resident on Washington Street approached officers and told them that someone had entered her residence and took a 26-inch TV valued at $350. The resident told police she had just returned home when she noticed her TV missing. The resident’s daughter was sleeping while the burglary occurred, according to the police report.

Later, the vehicle matching the description to Williams was found and stopped. According to the police report, Williams was previously arrested for having warrants out of different counties. A witness said they were sure that Williams was the suspect carrying the TV.

Williams was then brought to the police department to be interviewed.

Vehicles entered at Longhorn Steakhouse

Two cars were allegedly entered and phones were taken from them at the Longhorn Steakhouse on Lafayette Parkway Tuesday between 6:15 p.m. and 7:27 p.m.

The first car owner said the only items taken from his Ford F-350 were a Samsung Galaxy valued at $900 and $50 cash. According to the police report, while the officer was investigating, another car owner approached him. The owner told police her Ford F-150 was entered and that her iPhone 7 plus was stolen between 7 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. The phone was valued at $907.

According to the police report, the officer noticed a small hole below the front passenger door handle on both vehicles.

House burglarized

A house was allegedly burglarized and $800 worth of Xbox games and equipment were taken from the 100 block of Poplar Circle Tuesday between 8 a.m. and 2:38 p.m.

The owner told police her son called her when he came inside the house and noticed an Xbox One valued at $400 missing. Xbox video games valued at $400 and $100 cash were also taken from the residence, according to the police report.

Vehicle entered, phone stolen

A woman’s iPhone 6 was allegedly stolen from her unlocked Ford Excursion at the LaGrange Mall’s parking lot on Lafayette Parkway Tuesday between 5:15 p.m. and 6:05 p.m. The woman told police the phone was valued at $400.
