Man allegedly stabbed during mugging on Hamilton Road

A man was allegedly stabbed in his left shoulder outside the Ikkie Food Mart on Hamilton Road Monday at noon.

The man was being treated at WellStar West Georgia Medical Center on Tuesday when police contacted him. The man told police he was walking to Friendly Cab so he could get a ride home when three males came from behind him. He said one grabbed him by the neck, the second grabbed him around the waist and the third attempted to take his wallet from his pants pocket. The man said he told them he did not have any money, and one of the males then cut him on the shoulder before running away.

According to the police report, the man said he then went home and did not call 911 because he did not think the cut was bad. The man told police he realized the next day it was serious and left work early to get it checked out.

Man arrested for possession of stolen gun

Michael King, 31, was arrested for theft by receiving a stolen Rugger 9mm handgun on Dallis Street Tuesday after 11:30 a.m.

According to the police report, officers pulled over Antwainus Thornton’s vehicle with King in the passenger seat because Thornton was a wanted person. After arresting Thornton, officers ran King’s name, which came back with an active arrest warrant through Macon.

While searching the vehicle, officers found the gun in a bookbag. Officers ran the serial number of the gun, which came back as stolen. King told police he knew it was stolen.

King was also charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

 

House burglarized

A house was allegedly burglarized at the 100 block of Colonial Street Tuesday between 6:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.

The owner told police nothing was taken, but the back door was kicked in and the medicine cabinet was ripped off the bathroom wall. According to the police report, an officer noticed that the house was ransacked and drawers and cabinets were open throughout the house.

 

Marijuana found outside rehab center

A bag containing suspect marijuana was discovered in the parking lot of the LaGrange Health and Rehab Center Tuesday at 10:40 a.m.

According to the police report, a delivery truck driver told the staff there was something outside they may want to look at.

A staff member told police it would be impossible to know who owned it since a number of vehicles pass through on a daily basis.
