Mrs. Mattie Ruth Hudson, age 86 died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017, at the Lagrange Nursing  and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Hudson, a native of Alabama was the daughter of the late Quenna and Jocephus Hines and the wife of the late Henry Hudson. She held a career in the nursing field, and she was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church.  Survivors include a devoted niece, Evangelist Phyllis Hines; a sister, Mrs Julia McCurty (Sam) of Detroit, Michigan; a brother, Jocephus Hines, Jr. (Carol) of Niagra Falls, New York; a sister-in-law, Louise Hines (Thomas); and several nieces, nephews, several other relatives and friends.  Funeral services for Mrs. Mattie Ruth Hudson will be held on Monday, Nov. 27, 2017, at 1 p.m. at Valley Grove Baptist Church on Grady Street.  Minister Shirley Worle will officiate.  The family will receive friends at the home of her niece, Phyllis Hines at 14 Whiting Street.
