Christmas parade kicks off holiday season

Around 100 floats participated in Thursday night’s LaGrange Christmas parade. Hundreds lined the streets in downtown to take in the parade, which did not disappoint.

For a city the size of LaGrange, the parade is very large and lasted for about an hour.

The LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce deserves a round of applause for how well the parade was organized again this year. The parade truly features all corners of the community. The churches and businesses that design floats go all out. They are truly a sight to see.

And the dance groups always entertain. Sonic the Hedgehog, Mickey Mouse and other costumed characters bring a smile to children’s faces.

Of course, Santa gets the biggest applause. It’s nice that Santa always takes time out of his busy schedule to make a stop in LaGrange each year.

The parade is the unofficial start of the Christmas season in LaGrange each year. It’s also the perfect reminder that Christmas is almost here. We’re officially only 24 days away and counting.

We’re also already counting down the days to next year’s parade.
