On Wednesday, Dec. 6, Momma Goldberg’s Deli will celebrate its second annual “Give Back Night” from 5 to 8 p.m. with 20 percent of net sales being donated to Reach Out and Read Georgia. The deli locations participating in the event include both Columbus locations, LaGrange, Warner Robins and Mercer University.

“At Momma G’s, embracing the holiday spirit of love and goodwill go hand-in-hand with our core values,” said Nick Davis, president of Momma G’s Inc. “We felt a good way to demonstrate that spirit would be through working with our charity partner in giving the gift of reading to families across the state.”

Reach Out and Read Georgia provides age appropriate books for children from infancy through age 5 by working with pediatric offices to get books in the hands of the parents of young children while encouraging them to read aloud together. Reach Out and Read Georgia trained providers discuss why reading aloud is important, ways to look at the book and pictures that go beyond “the story” and the value of building daily routines around reading.
