Bishop Robert Simpson passed away Sunday.

He was born Dec. 14, 1927, to the late Lawrence and Maude Spence Simpson.

He served as the Pastor of St. James Holiness Church in Dadeville, Alabama for more than 40 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Ruth Simpson; and sons, John Atchinson and Calvin Simpson.

Survivors include nieces, Lois Hodge, Carrie Hightower (caregiver), and Joyce Tucker; nephew, Willie Henry Thompson; spiritual daughters and caregivers, Mona Ward and Carol Thompson; daughters-in-law, Gloria Simpson and Geraldine Atchinson; six grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.

The service will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Valley Grove Baptist Church.
