The Troup County Sheriff’s Office is currently looking for a missing 71-year-old man.

According to the TCSO, Charlie Hendrix was last seen on Oct. 2, but was reported missing Monday.

Sgt. Stewart Smith said the office does not suspect foul play or consider it a critical missing persons case because Hendrix has left his home without telling people before.

“According [his family] and our investigators it was not the first time he’s been known to leave and not tell anyone where he was going,” Smith said.

Hendrix is missing from his home on the 200 block of Glover Road in Hogansville.

Dog saves injured human

A dog helped its owner get medical assistance after alerting a Hogansville police officer who was patrolling on a major highway Monday.

According to a Hogansville Police Chief Brian Harr, the officer saw the dog pacing frantically back and forth and approached the dog. The dog then led the officer to his owner who had fallen and was unable to get help.

The officer then called medical services for the dog owner.

Counterfeit $20 discovered

A taxi cab driver was paid with a counterfeit $20 bill on Monday night on Hogansville Road.

The driver told police she was making a round trip from the 100 block of Lady Elaine Drive to Wynnwood Drive when the suspect asked to stop at the mart on Hogansville Road. The driver said when the suspect returned, he handed her the money and left quickly on foot.

The driver said when she looked down at the money she realized it was counterfeit. According to the police report, the bill was smaller than a normal $20 and was softer.
