Mrs. Jessie Mae Bowen Henson, age 94, passed away on Dec. 5, 2017, at the WellStar West Georgia Hospice.

Mrs. Henson was born on Aug. 18, 1923, in Newell, Alabama to the late Jim Bowen and Mattie Whaley Bowen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Romey Harold Henson, Jr.; daughter, Pearlie Mae Henson; six brothers and five sisters.  Survivors include her daughters, Diane H. Yarbrough and her husband Ronald and Patsy J. Johnson and her husband Roger; grandchildren, Rev. Ronald Yarbrough (Amber), Heather Nicole Montney (Shelby), Rev. Christopher Yarbrough and Brandi Lynn Lester (Kyle); 13 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and extended family.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017, at 3 p.m. at the Higgins LaGrange Chapel with the Rev. Christopher Yarbrough and the Rev. Sanford Yarbrough officiating. Interment will follow at Shadowlawn Cemetery.  Family will receive friends on Saturday from 2 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Henson was employed with Callaway Mills for over 32 years.  She enjoyed worshiping the Lord each Sunday at Liberty Worship Center and served in the Nursery Department for many years. Mrs. Henson loved her time outside fishing and cutting her grass. Granny Henson, as she was known at Liberty Worship Center, will be missed. She shared so much love with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
