COLUMBUS – Senior guard Jarrious Jefferson scored 23 points and dished five assists to help lead the Troup Tigers to a 75-63 road win over Kendrick on Tuesday.

On Saturday, Kendrick beat Troup 71-70 in overtime, but things went a different way in the rematch.

Troup had a comfortable lead most of the way, and unlike Saturday’s game, it didn’t allow Kendrick back into the game.

Troup head coach Blake Craft said his team played a much cleaner game in the rematch.

“We shot better from the free-throw line (making 10-of-15 attempts), and we only missed six layups this time and not 24,” Craft said. “We missed 24 layups and we had 24 turnovers and 14 missed free throws (on Saturday).”

Tristan Ware had a solid all-around game for Troup with 14 points and 10 rebounds, and Kobe Hudson  added 12 points and four assists.

Montez Crowe helped control things inside and the senior scored 11 points.

In Tuesday’s girls’ game, Troup won 45-35 to complete a two-game sweep of Kendrick.

Troup outscored Kendrick 15-8 in the final quarter to break open a close game.

Aundracia Riggins scored six points in the first quarter on the way to a 12-point night, and Kiya Fulton scored 10 points while making 4-of-6 free-throw attempts.

Jedda Madden added eight points, Jada Green scored seven points, and Tashauna Askew contributed six points.

Troup’s teams will host Callaway on Friday, with the girls’ game tipping off at 6 p.m. and the boys’ game to follow.
