Starting this week, the parking garage in downtown LaGrange will offer three free electric vehicle charging stations to the public.

The stations are located on the bottom floor of the parking garage and were installed free of charge to the City of LaGrange and Courtyard by Marriott thanks to Tesla. More than 332 electric vehicle charging stations are available at Marriott hotels around the world as part of the chain’s environmental awareness efforts in partnership with Tesla.

“Because we are a Marriott hotel, we thought it would be nice to bring that to the LaGrange area and offer that as an additional amenity, not just for those that are already in LaGrange, but also for anyone who is traveling through,” said Sarah Trillow, office manager for Paramount Hospitality Management which is over the LaGrange location. “Having electrical cars is starting to come out a lot more with consumers, and just having this amenity since it is right there next to the hotel, it adds a little (to the experience).”

According to Trillo, the chargers are provided as part of a partnership between Tesla and Marriott.

There are two stations for Tesla and one universal charging station. All three were set up at no cost to the City of LaGrange.

Parking in the garage is free and open to the public.
