Lady Tigers fall in overtime

TALLAPOOSA – The Troup Lady Tigers returned from a nearly two-week break and lost a 39-37 overtime heart-breaker to Bremen on Thursday in the Hilburn-Patterson Invitational at Haralson County.

It was tied 33-33 at the close of regulation, and Bremen outscored Troup 6-4 in overtime.

A Bremen player made a pair of free throws in the closing moments of overtime, and Troup was unable to answer.

Aundracia Riggins led a balanced Troup scoring effort with eight points, Jedda Madden and Kiya Fulton added seven points apiece, and Amber Gilbert scored six points.

Troup struggled to find its offense early.

Bremen led 8-6 after the first quarter, and it led 17-11 at the half.

Troup was still trailing 26-21 after the third quarter, but it outscored Bremen 12-7 in the fourth period to pull even and force overtime.
