It was a losing day for the LaGrange Lady Grangers, but there was some good news.

Senior guard Aryan Dozier, who has been out of action the past few weeks with an illness, returned to the court on Friday on the final day of the Newnan Holiday Classic.

LaGrange fell to Grayson 59-29 to finish with an 0-3 record in the tournament.

Dozier, LaGrange’s leading scorer before she was sidelined, played a few minutes in each quarter as she returned to action.

“I thought she played really good defense,” LaGrange head coach Stephen Tuck said. “But you could tell she hadn’t played basketball in a while. But it was good to get here out there.”

Friday’s game was competitive at the half, with LaGrange trailing 25-17, but Grayson pulled away in the final two quarters.

LaGrange now turns its attention to the start of the Region 5-AAAA schedule.

LaGrange will visit Central-Carroll on Tuesday.
