Despite the cold, this weekend has plenty of fun events and good causes to keep you moving through the weekend.

On Saturday, Pure Life Studios will host a performance by Kelli Johnson and Jon Player at 206 Clark Street.

Johnson is a southern rock, Americana singer from Gadsden, Alabama , who performs both as a solo artist and the lead singer for Sweetwater Road, an acoustic act. Her music is known for the emotion and clarity that she conveys with her voice and her songwriting ability. She is a returning performer at Pure Life.

Player is the lead for several regional bands and performs rock, funk and jazz music. On stage, Player and Johnson are expected to light up the stage with original tunes and banter.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., and the show will begin at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $15. For more information, visit Purelifelagrange.com.

Twin Cedars will host Twelfth Night — its Behind the Mask kickoff party — on Saturday at 6 p.m. at Wild Leap Brew Co. The five candidates for 2018 Queen of Mask and seven candidates for 2018 King of Mask are expected to talk about what they hope to accomplish for Twin Cedars at the event. All proceeds raised by Behind the Mask candidates go toward the more than two dozen programs for local children.

And of course, don’t forget to bring your live, undecorated Christmas tree, old electronics and noncommercial tires by the LaGrange Recycling Center on South Davis Road on Saturday between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. when Keep Troup Beautiful will be hosting Bring One for the Chipper.

The event will be one of the few opportunities to recycle old electronics at the center, so everyone is encouraged to start the year off right with fewer old wires and unused phones cluttering their space. TVs will not be accepted at the event.

Representatives from Keep Troup Beautiful will be on site giving away seedlings at the event.

There will also be a Bring One for the Chipper location in Hogansville in the parking lot across from city hall, but only live trees will be accepted at that location.
