Mr. Herman Lee Beard, age 88, of LaGrange, passed away on Jan. 7, 2018, at the WellStar West Georgia Hospice.

Mr. Beard was born on June 30, 1929, in LaGrange to the late Reuben Mathis Beard and Rosie Myrtie Knott Beard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Elsie Mae Still Beard; daughter, Vickie Beard Looser; brothers, Howard Beard and Don Beard.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Marion Knight Beard; daughters, Peggy Gregory and her husband Bill of LaGrange and Donna Quiring and her husband Roger of Burlington, North Carolina; son in law, Charles Loose; sister, Betty Justice of Kentucky; grandchildren, Andrew Looser (Hayley), Mat Quiring (Kelly), Amber NcNary (John), Whitney Waters (Brooks), Lindsay Gregory and Chris Gregory; four great grandchildren; step-children, Gail Dollar, Deb Crews, Lisa Arnold and Robert Dunn; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018, at 11 a.m. at the Higgins LaGrange Chapel with Pastor Mike Reeves officiating.  Interment will follow at the Restlawn Memory Gardens.  Family will receive friends on Monday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
