Mr. Grover Kenneth Loyd, age 74, of Pine Mountain, passed away on Jan. 9, 2018, at the WellStar West Georgia Medical Center. Mr. Loyd was born on April 9, 1943, in Columbus, Georgia, to the late Arthur Loyd and Myrtle Lucille Courtney Loyd.  Mr. Loyd was a special service representative for many years for the Georgia Power Company.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Loyd, and a sister, Vivian Loyd Walker. Survivors include his wife, Martha Anne Taylor Loyd; daughters, Kim Wiemer and her husband Dennis and Diane Jorge and her husband Mike; brother, Don Loyd; seven grandchildren; stepdaughter, Marleia Hand and her husband David; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 12, 2018, at 1 p.m. at the Higgins LaGrange Chapel with Pastor Ricky Lipp officiating. Family will receive friends for a time of visitation from noon to 1 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.   

Interment to follow at the Shadowlawn Cemetery.  The family will also gather for a reception following the committal service at the funeral home.
