Published 7:46 pm Monday, January 15, 2018

This weekend young women from across the county will compete for the title of Miss Troup and Miss Troup Outstanding Teen and the scholarship money that comes with those titles.

According to pageant organizer Judy Neighbors, the scholarship program aims to help young women gain the experience that they need to walk confidently into the next chapter of their lives and afford the education to get them there. Pageant winners also participate in a number of activities to support the community throughout the year ranging from service projects to parades. The pageant is the first step toward Miss Georgia and Miss America pageants.

The Miss Troup County Scholarship Pageant will take place on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Troup County Fine Arts Auditorium at 1920 Hamilton Road. For more information, visit Misstroupcounty.org or e-mail jujuandjim@aol.com.
