The county wrestling championship has been snowed out.

The event was originally scheduled for Tuesday, but it was postponed because of concern over the winter weather.

The teams then decided to wrestle today, but that isn’t going to work either.

Since school was canceled in Troup County today, there can be no sporting events.

There is no other day that will work for the three schools, so the county championship won’t be held this year.

All three teams still have plenty of wrestling remaining, though, beginning with tournaments this weekend.

While LaGrange and Callaway will be at the Bowdon Invitational on Friday and Saturday, Troup will be in the Last Man Standing tournament in Henry County.

On Monday, LaGrange will be at home against Heard County and Haralson County, and it will be senior night.

Also next week, LaGrange, Troup and Callaway will all participate in their area tournaments.

LaGrange will host the Area 5-AAAA traditional tournament on Jan. 27, and the top finishers will advance to the state sectional.

Callaway will be at East Laurens on Jan. 27 for the Area 2-AA traditional tournament.

The state sectionals will be held on Feb. 2 and Feb. 3, and the season ends with the state finals on Feb. 9 and Feb. 10.
