Two vehicles broken into in parking lot, purse stolen

A car owner told police that her vehicle’s window was broken and a Tommy Hilfiger purse valued at $20 was stolen from it Saturday at the Walmart on New Franklin Road before 12:20 p.m. While an officer was talking to her, another person approached officers and told him that his vehicle was entered and a pack of cigarettes was taken from the console.

According to the police report, the officer reviewed store video which showed two men pulling on car door handles and taking the cigarettes from the second vehicle. The men approach the first vehicle and left before returning with two more men.

According to the police report, the video showed the men break the window with a rock and take the purse. Officers later found the purse down the hill where the men ran after talking it.

In a separate incident, a woman told police that two juveniles entered a vehicle Saturday at Fourth Avenue around 2 p.m.

The woman said one of the juveniles was actually seated in the vehicle but ran when he was sighted. Nothing was reported missing.

Vehicle stolen

A 2013 Dodge Charger was allegedly stolen from the 300 block of Cross Creek Court between Friday at 11 p.m. and Saturday at 3 p.m.

The vehicle’s owner told police he kept a key fob under the driver’s seat and thought the car’s battery was dead.  The vehicle was valued at $10,000.
