Evelyn Smith, a native of Newnan passed away Thursday.

She was born on March 19, 1947, in Coweta County, Georgia to the late, John Alvin McKeever and Bessie Ruth McKeever

She attended Central High School in Newnan, Georgia. She worked as  cafeteria food supervisor at Central High School and a nurse’s assistant at Newnan Home (now Avalon Health and Rehabilitation).

Survivors include her sons, Anthony Smith of Fort Mitchell, Alabama and Coniculus Smith of Crystal Lake, Illinois; daughters-in-law, Thomasina Smith and Antwine Williams-Smith; two granddaughters; three grandsons; one great-granddaughter; sister, Lois Moreland; sister-in-law, Mrs. Tommie Edmondson McKeever; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Wesley Chapel AME Church, Newnan.
