Shirley “Annelle” Oliver Parker, 74, died Jan. 28, 2018.

Born in Columbus, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Hugh and Mary Nell McLean Oliver. Mrs. Parker studied early childhood development at LaGrange College and enjoyed working with children. She lived in Toccoa, Georgia, for 28 years before moving to Athens in 2012. She was a homemaker and also worked in retail businesses for nearly twenty years before retiring.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Midway United Methodist Church, Midway, Alabama. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Survivors include her son, Curt (Stacy) Cook of Bogart; three grandchildren, Bryce, Ella Kate and Oliver; sister, Marguerite (David) Hay of Columbus, Georgia; nephew, Derek Hay; niece, Amanda Hay; special canine companion, Pumpkin.
