Calvin William Studdard

Calvin William Studdard, 81, of LaGrange, Georgia, passed away Friday, Feb. 2, 2018, at his home.
Mr. Studdard was born March 4, 1936, in Troup County, Georgia, son of the late Sam and Fannie Lee Adcock Studdard. In his early teens, he worked for Hillside Mill and was a very avid baseball player on the Mill League and also played for a team named The Troopers. Mr. Studdard was employed with Durand Wayland before retiring. He was a member of Wehadkee Baptist Church and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and Georgia Bulldog fan.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Bobbie Sue Studdard of LaGrange; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Gayle Studdard of LaGrange; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Diane Studdard of Watkinsville, Georgia; sister, Barbara McGhee of LaGrange; three great grandchildren, Jacob Webb, Brandon Webb, and Kevin Webb; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018 in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with the Rev. Nick Pilgrim, the Rev. Olin White, the Rev. Bryan Geter and the Rev. Howard Longshore officiating. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens. The gathering of family and friends will be on Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
