Dunn taught numerous subjects during her time as a teacher at Callaway High, and she also served as a graduation coach, and she was once the school’s teacher of the year. Eventually Dunn moved into administration and became one of the assistant principals at Callaway Middle.

After Dunn’s death, a scholarship was created in her name, and it will be given each year to a graduate from Callaway High.

During a ceremony last year where a treat was planted in her honor at Callaway Middle, Kevin Dunn said his wife was “passionate about kids reaching their potential, and the kids truly came first in her mind. She truly wanted everybody to succeed. She wanted to put them in a position to succeed. I

“It was about the kids succeeding and putting them in the best place to succeed and have what they want and need out of life.”

Freeman is one of the best football players in Callaway history, and he was a standout on the 2013 team that reached the state semifinals.

Freeman, a defensive lineman, was a four-year starter at Georgia Tech.

In addition to his outstanding work as a football player, Freeman has received numerous honors for what he has done off the field.

Freeman is active in volunteer work, helping out at hospitals, working with the Special Olympics, assisting at youth camps, and the list goes on and on.

Most recently, Freeman was named one of the 25 semifinalists for the 2018 Coach John Wooden Citizen Cup.

Also, Freeman was picked for the 2016 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, and he was named to the Danny Wuerffel Trophy Watch list three times.

In December, Freeman graduated from Georgia Tech with a degree in business administration, and now he’s preparing for the next stage of his life, which he hopes will include a career in the NFL.
