The LaGrange Grangers enjoy playing on their home floor, and they have enjoyed tremendous success there over the years.

LaGrange is hoping that home-court advantage will pay major dividends today.

There will be two Region 5-AAAA tournament games today at LaGrange, and they’ll both involve local teams.

At 6 p.m., fourth-seeded Troup will play fifth-seeded Cedartown with a trip to the semifinals on the line.

At 7:30 p.m., it will be the host Grangers taking on the Chapel Hill Panthers.

While the winners of today’s game will advance to the semifinals, the season will come to an end for the losers.

LaGrange has played Chapel Hill twice, and it won both games.

Most recently, they played on Jan. 30, with LaGrange winning 44-41 at home.

In the game at Chapel Hill, LaGrange won 73-60.

If LaGrange beats Chapel Hill for a third time, it will move on to the semifinals to play second-seeded Cartersville on Friday at 6 p.m. at Sandy Creek.

Troup split its two regular-season games with Cedartown. In the first game, Troup rolled to a 49-33 win at home, and Cedartown won the rematch 53-40.

A win would propel Troup into the semifinals against top-seeded Sandy Creek on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
