The LaGrange Police Department made an arrest in the Juniper Street shooting, which occurred around 8 p.m. on Jan. 29.

Jomo Lindsey, 33, was arrested on Sunday and charged with criminal attempt murder, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, possession of firearm during the commission of a crime and possession of firearm by convicted felon. The victim in the case, 27-year-old Deontre Johnson, is reportedly still in an Atlanta hospital.

The case is still open as investigators continue to try to find out more information, and we’ll leave it at that.

But there was another shooting that night as well, about 12 minutes away, on Lady Elaine Street. Antonio Harris, 31, was killed after someone fired more than 20 shots at the house he was in.

Harris, two adult females and two children were in the house at the time of the shooting, but only Harris was hit.

The LPD is still looking for leads in the case, and Troup County Crime Stoppers is offering as much as a $2,000 reward for anyone that can provide information leading to an arrest.

Harris’ family deserves closure in this case, and the person who is responsible should be locked away.

We hope the reward will make it more likely that someone will step forward with information.

Anyone with information is asked to call the LaGrange Police Department at (706) 883-2603 or the Troup County Crime Stoppers at (706) 812-1000.
