Pure Life Studios will present Frankie’s Blues Mission with special guest Jontavious Willis on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

As the name implies, the gentlemen from Frankie’s Blues Mission are on a mission. Their purpose is to present the blues, jazz, R&B and zydeco in the best of the African-American tradition with all the energy they can muster.

Frankie’s Blues Mission has played at numerous festivals including The Blue Ridge Blues and BBQ Festival,  The Gwinnett Arts Festival and The Atlanta Dogwood Festival. They have performed with or shared the stage with blues legends such as Robert “Chick” Willis, Billy Boy Arnold, Billy Flynn, Henry “Gip” Gipson, Chicago Bob Nelson, Roy Lee, Johnson, Luther” Houserocker” Johnson, Willie Hill and Rita Graham

“ It’s not just the same old blues, and deserves to be picked up for wider release,” said Jim DeKoster, of Living Blues Magazine, of the groups Sleeping Dog CD.

Pure Life Studios believes just that and is looking forward to featuring them with special guest Jontavious Willis for an extra kick.

The current lineup of Frankie’s Blues Mission includes: Frank “Frankie Lee” Robinson is vocals and guitar, Kurt Mcmanus on Bass Guitar and Rod Breland on drums.

The concert will be held at Pure Life Studios, an acoustic listening room, located at 206 Clark St. in the Hillside Community of LaGrange. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show begins at 7:30 p.m.
