The season opener for the Callaway Cavaliers has been pushed back a day.

Callaway was supposed to kick off its baseball season on Tuesday against Carver, but the game was postponed because of poor field conditions.

The two teams will try it again today.

There will be a junior-varsity game at 4:45 p.m., with the varsity game scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.

That will be the start of a busy week for the Cavaliers, who will play four games in four days, weather-permitting.

Callaway will be back home on Thursday against Manchester, and it will be in Atlanta on Saturday for a doubleheader against Westminster.

LaGrange’s baseball team is set to open its season Thursday against Newnan before hitting the road for a pair of games.

LaGrange will play Cairo on Friday and Colquitt County on Saturday.

Troup, which opened its season on Tuesday against Carrollton, finishes its week with two road games.

Troup visits Hardaway on Thursday, and it will play Forsyth Central on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Harris County.
