The Troup Tigers fought back from a two-goal deficit to force overtime, but it was the Callaway Cavaliers walking away with a 4-3 victory on Thursday at Callaway Stadium.

Callaway led 3-1 at the half, and Troup scored two goals in the second half to pull even.

It remained tied until the closing moments of the second five-minute overtime period.

With one minute remaining, Ian Bryan made a penalty kick to give Callaway the lead, and Troup was unable to answer.

Bryan scored two goals for the Cavaliers, and Noah Stephens and Michael Everett had one goal apiece.

For Troup, Myles Sargent, Oscar Lopez Garcia and Helsyn Martinez each scored one goal.

In the girls’ game, Callaway led 3-0 at the half, and it added three more second-half goals to win 6-0.

Senior Kelly Carlisle, who recently announced her intention to sign with Point University, had a big night for Callaway with five goals.

Chloe McGuffin, who is set to play soccer at LaGrange College, scored Callaway’s other goal.
