Man allegedly held at gunpoint on Sunday

A man was allegedly held at gunpoint at the parking lot outside the Rodeway Inn Sunday before 12:22 a.m.

The man told police he was walking to a gas station when a vehicle stopped and teenagers asked if he needed a ride. When he was leaving the station, he was asked again and took up the vehicle’s offer to drive him back to his 18-wheel truck.

The man said once he got out of the vehicle he heard the trunk open so he placed his wallet and phone in the front passenger seat of his truck. He stated that when he turned around, all of the teenagers had a handgun pointed at him.

The man told police that a female asked him how much money he had and grabbed his pockets. The man slapped one of the males in the face and then began to intimidate them, and they got back into the vehicle and left on LaFayette Parkway, according to the police report.

The man said nothing was taken from him.

House shot at

A house was allegedly shot at the 500 block of Ridley Avenue Saturday between midnight and 1 a.m.

A resident told police she heard a loud pop from the front of the house and began to look around with other residents. She said they noticed smoke in the kitchen and thought there was a problem with an outlet before going back to bed.

The resident told police that when she woke up she noticed the front window had a hole in it and in one of the walls.

Two-year-old found in street

A 2-year-old was found walking in the middle of Cosby Drive Friday around 10:30 a.m. A man told police he found the child barefoot and holding a sippy cup and bottle of body spray before contacting the police.

According to the police report, officers were looking for the missing child and brought him back to his parents on Avondale Drive. The child’s mother told police that she left him when he was asleep with his father around 8:40 a.m. with the door locked.

The mother said the child could unlock doors. The child’s father said when he woke up he realized he was missing. The father was sighted for parental responsibility.

$3,000 worth of lottery tickets stolen

Ten rolls of Georgia Lottery tickets valued at $300 each were discovered allegedly stolen from a Mobil Convenience Store on Lafayette Parkway Saturday around 2:45 p.m.

The store owner told police she keeps the tickets in a storage room and didn’t realize they were missing until recently.

House burglarized

A house was allegedly entered and a television was taken at the 500 block of Hines Street between Feb. 12 at 5:15 p.m. and Friday at 6:45 p.m. The homeowner told police when she returned to the residence, she also noticed two bedroom doors were opened.

Vehicle entered

A vehicle was entered and a backpack and wallet were taken from it at the 600 block of Winzor Avenue Between Saturday and Sunday at 6:10 a.m.

The vehicle owner told police when he got to work he realized the backpack and wallet were missing. According to the police report, a neighbor found the wallet and backpack in the bed of his truck and returned the items.

The vehicle owner said the only thing missing was $40 cash.
