ATLANTA – The Callaway Cavaliers made their first road trip of the season on Saturday, and they split a doubleheader with a strong Westminster team.

Callaway won the first game 5-3, and it rallied from a 5-1 deficit to pull even before falling short in the second game 9-7.

In the first game, senior Chandler Lott made his second start of the season, and he had it working.

Lott threw five innings and gave up one hit and no earned runs, and Wesley Marchman threw two scoreless innings to finish things off.

Drake Wade continued to get it done from the leadoff position with one hit and two runs, and Trent Sheppard had two hits and two RBIs.

Lott also produced at the plate with two hits and two RBIs, and Buster Perry scored two runs.

In Game 2, Austin Barber started and pitched two innings, Dawson Wright threw the next two innings, and Jabari Smith worked one inning.

Trailing by four, the Cavaliers fought back to tie it at 7-7 in the fifth inning, but the Wildcats scored the final two runs to secure the win.

Lott had a hit and three RBIs, Braelin Mitchell had two hits and an RBI, Sheppard had a hit and an RBI,

Wade had a hit and two runs scored, and Destin Patrick had an RBI.

Callaway (3-1) will be on the road against Hardaway today.
