Troup County will be filled with the sound of music this weekend. While the Choral Society of West Georgia’s ‘Victory Through Harmony- Songs that Won the War’ concert is sold out, there’s plenty of other music filled events happening Saturday and Sunday.

The Sock Hops will perform at Troup High Fine Arts Auditorium Saturday at 7 p.m. The four-part harmony group is being hosted by the Troup High School Alumni Association’s annual fundraiser.

Tickets can be purchased at the door.

If you’d prefer instrumental music, violinist Diane Perry will perform at Pure Life Studios Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Perry plays a blend of folk with classical and jazz music. Tickets can be purchased at the door.

Point University’s Fine Arts Department will hold ‘Music that Inspires’ at the Scott Fine Arts Performing Arts Center Sunday at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.

The program will feature backstories on popular texts and tunes, such as ‘Come Let Us Bow Down,’ ‘The Water is Wide’ and ‘Old Irish Blessing.’ The event is free and meant for all ages.
