Allie Anne Thompson

Allie Anne Thompson, 78, of Greenville (Stovall Community), died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018, at her home surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Thompson was born Sept. 26, 1939, in LaGrange, Georgia, the daughter of the late Roy Wallace Hale and Clara Mae Cato Hale. She was a wonderful mother and had worked for many years as a nurses aid at the Warm Springs-Roosevelt Institute for Rehabilitation. She was a member of the Stovall Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter Amanda Leanne Scott.

She is survived by her devoted husband William Gordon Thompson of Greenville; sons Terry Thompson of Forest Park, Georgia, and William Gregory Thompson of LaGrange, Georgia; daughter, Cherry Ann Despot of Rocky Mount, North Carolina; grandchildren, Steven Wesley Scott, William Bradley Jordan Thompson, Charles Eric Thompson, Kimberly Ann Gutierrez, Kelly Marie Thompson and Alia Gabriel Thompson; great-grandchildren, Kylimry Scott, Kaylian Scott, Caitlyn Sowden, Elijha Gordon Thompson, Rebecca Londyn Thompson, Hayley Alexander Thompson and Sienna Villatoro.

Memorial services for Allie Anne Thompson will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018, at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home, Manchester, with the Rev. Brian Geter officiating the service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and immediately following the service.
