The LaGrange Toyota Invitational was supposed to start on Thursday, but Mother Nature had other ideas.

With the forecast calling for rain, the decision was made to postpone all of Thursday’s games, so what was originally going to be a three-day tournament has been shortened to two days.

Assuming the weather cooperates, each team will still play four games as was originally planned.

Earlier in the week as the forecast grew increasingly gloomy for Thursday, organizers of the LaGrange Toyota Invitational prepared for the possibility of having to fit everything into two days, so the alternate plan was in place.

Each of the eight participating teams will play two games today, and two more games on Saturday.

The championship game, featuring the top teams from each of the four-team pools, will be on Saturday at 7 p.m. at LaGrange College.

“Friday and Saturday look really good (weather-wise), so we’ll be able to get them all in,” Smart said.

All four of LaGrange’s games will be played at Granger Park.

LaGrange will play its tournament opener today at noon against Pace (Fla.), and it will play Johns Creek at 7:30 p.m.

LaGrange’s third game will be against First Academy (Fla.) on Saturday at 10 a.m., and it will have a place game later in the day either at 4 p.m. of 7 p.m.
