Storytelling festival guest performs at Thursday Lunch Club

The Thursday Lunch Club met Thursday in the Fellowship Hall of LaGrange First United Methodist Church.

A total of 131 people who enjoyed a meal prepared by Rick Free, director of food service at LaGrange FUMC and other volunteers. The tables were decorated to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with white floral arrangements, green scarves, green bolo hats and lucky coins

Joyce Morgan Young also thanked Judy Bledsoe for administering blood pressure checks prior to the meal. Young introduced the Dulcimer group who will be entertaining at the Azalea Storytelling Festival on Sunday morning. She also asked the Azalea Storytelling committee to stand and be congratulated for their outstanding work.

Jake Behr, Program Chair announced a drawing for four Azalea Storytelling certificates, which allows the winner to attend all of the storytelling sessions. The winners of the four certificates were Linda Black, Sure Crisler, Jerrie Holmes and Ann Hoxie.

Then Joyce introduced professional singer and storyteller, Michael Reno Harrell, who will also be entertaining LaGrange at the Azalea Storytelling Festival.  Harrell performed original songs and told a story from his childhood in North Carolina.

The next meeting of TLC will be April 5 and will feature Christopher Wheat, Gospel Singer.
