Routine maintenance is just smart

Yes, we have had a lot of rain this year. If you own real estate, have a septic tank, and it has not been pumped in the past 5 years, do yourself a favor and have it pumped.

That is the health department’s recommendation to keep it lasting a long time.

That costs about $400 and is money well spent.

If you are of the thought process, “If it is not broken, leave it alone,” no problem, later you can pay about $3,600 to have new field lines. The choice is yours.

Of course, that bill can go up if you have to move a fence or plant sod over it again.

While we are talking about saving money, have your heat pump serviced two times a year, and you will save money on lower power bills and your system will last longer.

If you spend money on your home, it will last longer without big bills coming your way.

Another thing, people forget is the trim work  on your house needs attention, windows need to be re-caulked and weather stripping needs redoing from time to time.

While nobody likes to spend the money, routine maintenance is just smart.
