LaGrange falls at Carrollton

The LaGrange Grangers fell to the home-standing Carrollton Trojans 12-2 on Friday.

The Grangers led 2-0, but the Trojans took control with six runs in the bottom of the third and four more runs in the fourth inning.

Seth Prather had two hits and an RBI for the Grangers, and Walt Lanier had two hits from the lead-off position.

Ben Stogner had a hit and an RBI, and Charles Crwaford and Will Flowers each had a hit.

LaGrange will visit McIntosh today before opening its Region 5-AAAA schedule on Tuesday against Cedartown.

SOCCER: LaGrange’s teams opened their Region 5-AAAA schedules with road wins over Sandy Creek on Friday.

In the girls’ game, LaGrange got a late goal to beat Sandy Creek 2-1.

In a high-scoring boys’ game, LaGrange beat Sandy Creek 6-4.

Also on Friday, Callaway’s teams got Region 5-AA road wins over Spencer.

In the boys’ game, Callaway edged Spencer 2-1.

The Callaway girls’ team rolled to a 5-1 victory.
